Santos proposes strengthening the contents of Strategic Communication in the training of staff officers, to be applied int the operations framed in international missions. Third article, Professor of Universidad de Granada Maria Concepción Pérez Villalobos deals with the issue of the Gender Military Advicers, with special attention paid to the protection of childhood in the conflicts . United Nations is increasingly concerned about that issue. Jorge Turmo, Óscar Vara and Ángel Rodríguez García-Brazales, Professors of Basis of the Economic Analysis in the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, tackle in the fourth article the way China an USA are trying to fit their military strategies to the changes that the global financial disadjustments impose. In the fifth article, Professor Cesáreo Gutiérrez Espadas, senior researcher, continues enriching the debate in the International Law knowledge area. Without hesitation, the analysis he presents along with María José Cervell will become a reference when discussing the legal perspective accompanying the use of drones, robots and other autonomous weapons still in development phase. Julia Gifra reflects in the sixth article on current topic: the peacekeeping operations carried out under Chapter VII of the Charter of United Nations, one of the most used mechanisms in situations of severe violence against people by the multilateral organization. In the seventh article, Oliver Urrutia analyzes the important role developped by the security and defence thinktank in the generations of ideas and knowledge. Eighth article is written by the Professor Natividad Fernández Sola, and deals with the reform of the European External Action Service. Antonio Juan Briones Peñalver is the author of the ninth article, in which he analyzes the Economics of the Defence, following the line drawed in the past two issues of the journal, and taking into account the relevance of the economical matters nowadays. The last article is written by Ricard Zapata-Barrero who raises a topic always related to international security, as the great scale migratory movements are and the initiative that he defines as the “externalization” of the migratory policies in the UE. As our readers can see, the reports we publish in this issue include a wide range of the most relevant aspects in the Security and Defense area with strong arguments and conclusions. Finally, let me express in the name of the Spanish Institute for Strategic Studies my sincere thanks to the external reviewers for their invaluable collaboration.
