Abstract 139 Training and use SOLUTIONS TO THE DEFENCE AND CONTROL OF STRAITS In the previous article of this series, we have analysed the status of the Strait of Gibraltar as a strategic reference of the national defence, its location as a bridge or border between two cultures, and its importance in international trade, which gives it relevance comparable to only a few more spots throughout the whole world. In this article, we will look deeply into the way to control these strategic spots which usually open, but sometimes might choke the economies of many countries, some of them big powers.
