ABSTRACT The article describes the situation of lack of equipment and uniforms, plus the many problems faced by George Washington’s Continental Army. The importance of the international aid is stressed, with special attention to the role of the logistic support received from Spain. The envoi of the great expedition of 11.000 Spanish troops from Cadiz in 1780 plus the military operations conducted in the Gulf of Mexico against the British Army by the Spanish Troops of General Bernardo de Gálvez played a substantial strategic and logistic role in the final triumph of the American Revolution.
