Almost 3 hours of discussion end up with no clear
solution, with no magic formula, with no “Aha moment”.
But this does not mean we failed. The vast majority of
topics we deal with at the AWC are wicked problems,
with no black or white solutions. The most we can do
(and we are expected to do) it’s to deeply study the
topic, searching for trends or characteristics that can
make us understand better the issue.
The discussions in the seminar are open, frank, and
non-accountable. The experience of more than 20
years of Service of each student brings added value
and a holistic perspective on the topic. As it has been
said, “when in the discussion you make your point, you
reinforce it; but when you find out you are not right,
then you will really learn”.
The installations and equipment is another
outstanding aspect of the AWC. Each seminar
has three pen blackboards and three big displays
where everything is presented through a computer
system that allows connecting to the internet, to the
NIPRNET, to an external device, or to make the display
become electronic boards. Talking again about
the Jones auditorium, there is one person always
checking everything works fine, dimming the lights as
appropriate or regulating the volume of videos and
mikes.
y no vinculantes.
en las discusiones hagas valer tu opinión, la asentarás;
funciona correctamente, atenuando luces o regulando
los volúmenes.
