Like him, many other soldier-poets match up in the aim of make a literary reflection of this own military expe-rience, confirming the generous and idealized interpretation of the facts as a common characteristic of this genre. In this article, we point out some of the features and themes more related to his military experience, i.e: ironic humor, obedience to the hierarchy, fraternity among different peoples, the human action, the importance of the inner victory over the self, and above all, the defense of human freedom.
