ABSTRACT
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (Alcalá de Henares 1547-Madrid
1616) was one of the many thousands of soldiers that enlisted in the Thirds
of the Spanish Infantry they fought courageously and covered themselves
in glory in the battle of Lepanto (1571), suffered injuries and captivity and
