(MIP) y el papel de España en las mismas. Para ello, en primer lugar, se expondrá el marco jurídico internacional. Seguidamente, se analizarán los diversos instrumentos de pacificación. Se centrará el estudio en el ámbito de la Unión Europea. Ya en tercer lugar, se hará referencia a la actuación nacional, abordándose tanto los principales objetivos del Reino en relación a las MIP, como los aspectos jurídicos, políticos, económicos y sociales. También se señalarán las actuales MIP en las que España está presente. Finalmente, se enumerarán los más importantes retos y las perspectivas de las MIP. In a world where the concept of «peace» acquires, every day, a more multidimensional quality, fostered by the unstoppable globalization of all human structures, this paper intends to introduce a general vision about the importance of the international peace missions (IPM) and the role of Spain in them. For this, we will first discuss the international legal framework. Then, we will analyze the various peace-making instruments. The study will focus in the sphere of the European Union. We’ll then mention our national efforts, addressing both the main objectives of the Kingdom in relation to the IPM’s, and the legal, political, economic, and social aspects. We will also point out the IPM’s in which Spain is participating. Finally, we will list the most important challenges and perspectives of the IMP’s. 12
