L’évolution constante des technologies de l’information et de la communication ainsi que la professionnalisation des réseaux sociaux comme moyen de communication et d’influence favorisent une vertigineuse transformation dans le milieu de l’information des conflits armés. Les réseaux sociaux sont devenus des instruments efficaces de débat, de communication et de diffusion d’idées dont les capacités potentielles d’influence ne passent pas inaperçues pour les organisations terroristes qui les utilisent pour leur propagande. Ce travail porte sur l’utilisation de ces réseaux par les différents acteurs concernés, lors des derniers conflits, ainsi que sur l’importance des réseaux en tant que champ de bataille virtuel dans la résolution de futurs conflits. Les forces armées françaises, ont conduit durant les trois premiers mois de 2013 la phase la plus intense de l’Opération Serval au nord du Mali. Les actions militaires ont été caractérisées par une progression rapide sur de longues distances des forces légères et moyennes, combinées avec des opérations aéroportées et des attaques précises de l’aviation, en application de ce que l’Armée française appelle «manoeuvre aéroterrestre dans la profondeur ». L’article, de manière attrayante et simple, décrit les principales actions de cette opération dont l’on peut tirer des conclusions sur les capacités françaises et sur la guerre, dans un environnement aussi exigeant que le Sahel. DOCUMENT: 1715-2015: TROISIÈME CENTENAIRE DU COMMANDEMENT GÉNÉRAL DES BALÉARES..... 67 Le 28 novembre 1715, Philippe V signait le Décret de Nueva Planta pour l’ancien royaume de Majorque créant ainsi, parmi d’autres institutions, la Capitainerie Générale qui célèbre cette année son tricentenaire et qui parvient jusqu’à nos jours sous le nom de Commandement Général des Baléares (COMGEBAL). Le document présente un parcours de ces 300 années sous différents aspects: l’historique, à travers le récit des vicissitudes du Commandement, incluant ses antécédents depuis que le Roi Jacques 1er rattache Majorque au royaume d’Aragon, ainsi que les figures notoires qui l’ont commandé; de l’évolution de ses unités et des missions auxquelles il a participé depuis la moitié du siècle dernier; de son important patrimoine et des efforts du COMGEBAL pour sa conservation, comprenant le Palais de l’Almudaina où il siège depuis sa fondation, et de son engagement avec l’environnement, spécialement dans un milieu insulaire d’une beauté et d’une richesse uniques. The continuous evolution of the technologies of information and telecommunications, and the professionalization of social networks as a method of communication and influence, is promoting a dizzying transformation in the information environment of armed conflicts. Social networks have become effective instruments for discussion, communication and ideas; their potential to influence does not pass unnoticed to terrorist organizations that use them for their propaganda. This paper deals with the use of these networks in recent conflicts by the various actors involved, and their importance as a virtual battlefield in the resolution of future conflicts. OPERATION SERVAL: THE FRENCH STYLE OF WARFARE................................................................... 42 Jesús Manuel Pérez Triana. BA in Psychology. During the first three months of 2013 French armed forces carried out the most intense phase of the Operation Serval in northern Mali. Military actions were characterized by the rapid progress of light and middle forces over large distances combined with airborne operations and precise attacks of aviation, in application of which the French army called «air-ground maneuver in depth». In an enjoyable and simple way, the article narrates the main actions of this operation, from which conclusions on French capabilities and the war in an environment that is as demanding as the Sahel can be extracted. DOCUMENT: 1715-2015: THIRD CENTENNIAL OF THE GENERAL COMMAND OF THE BALEARIC ISLANDS.................................................................... 67 On November 28, 1715 Felipe V signed the Decree of New Plant for the ancient Kingdom of Mallorca, creating, among other institutions, the Captaincy General, thus this year it will be the 300 anniversary of this institution, which lasts until the present day under the name of General Command of the Balearic Islands (COMGEBAL). The document presents a tour of these 300 years in several aspects: historical, narrating the vicissitudes of the Captaincy, including its background since King Jaime I incorporated Mallorca into the Kingdom of Aragon, as well as the figures of relevance that commanded it; the evolution of its military units and the operations in which it took part from the middle of the past century; the important heritage and the efforts of the COMGEBAL for its conservation, including the Almudaina Palace, headquarters of the COMGEBAL since its creation; and the commitment of the General Command with the environment, especially in an insular environment of singular richness and beauty.
