Perciò, la divisione San Marcial raccoglie la tradizione delle unità corazzate dell’Esercito spagnolo dal suo primo impiego negli anni 20 del secolo passato. Nel presente documento si presentano le unità della divisione San Marcial, polivalenti e capaci di affrontare qualsiasi missione in tutto lo spettro del conflitto, equipaggiate con materiale e tecnologia di ultima generazione, come gli autoblindi “LEOPARDO” 2E, il veicolo di combattimento di fanteria/cavalleria “PIZARRO”, o li veicoli “CENTAURO” tra altri, tutti loro dotati della massima capacità di confronto. It might lead to changes in the make-up of its Self-Defense Forces, which could transform them into the new Japanese Armed Forces; a process that arouses among a large proportion of the population a feeling of worry- not to say of rejection- about a potential re-militarization of the country. The San Marcial Division........................................71 Issued by the Spanish Army Chief of Staff, the Instruction 7/2016 of January 19 dealing with the organization of the Army, establishes that the San Marcial Division is a set of units whose main task is to get set to build up, in a quick and effective manner, operational structures in keeping with the specific land warfare doctrine. Thus, the San Marcial Division upholds the long tradition of the Spanish Army’s armored units that began when they were first employed back in the twenties of the past century. In this document we present the San Marcial Division units, polyvalent and capable to carry out any mission within the spectrum of conflict, fitted with state-of-the-art technology and materiel such as the main battle tank LEOPARDO 2E or the infantry/cavalry combat vehicle PIZARRO or the vehicles CENTAURO, among others; all of them with the highest fighting capacity. The Spanish Army is equipped with simulation assets to train personnel at different levels: tactical individual posts, crews and staffs of armored and mechanized units. These simulation assets constitute a valuable complement, though not a substitute, to the basic and advanced training of the units. Such simulation assets can- and must- reflect as accurately as possible the features of the present-day theaters of conflict, each one with its own peculiarities. Theaters that have been already endured by allied nations’ armies, which provides us with precious lessons.
