First lesson of school-year 2021 - 2022.
On November 5, 2021, the Deputy Director of the Artillery School,
Lieutenant Colonel Francisco José Martin Moya, gave the first
lesson of the 2021-22 school- year, as it has been done for 257
years, when the Royal College of Artillery, based in the Alcázar of
Segovia, was founded.
During his lesson, the Deputy Director and Head of studies con-ducted
a brief tour through the history of the Royal College. He
also identified the teachings of the methodology designed by
Father Eximeno, as they are still being used in the training pro-cesses,
and he described how it has evolved to be adapted to the
needs of the Army, finishing with an analysis of the future ope-rational
environment, and how the performance of the force and
the artillery training should be adapted to be useful in the future.
Francisco Ramírez de Madrid Award 2021
On August 6, 2020, the Francisco Ramírez de Madrid award was
announced. The Qualifying Board, after receiving the proposals
from the First Level Commands, met on January 8, 2021 and
they raised its proposed resolution to the General Chief of Staff of
the Army, who agreed to award the Francisco Ramírez de Madrid
to Lieutenant General Mr. José Manuel García Sieiro.

The comprehensive preparation of the HAWK tactical officer
as a key element in the success of the air defence combat.
In the Air Defence Artillery Regiment 74, given the disappearance
of the specific training courses for operators of the different wea-pon
systems, the learning and updating of the operating procedu-res
of the HAWK system lead to a greater importance to maintain
a high degree of preparation and, therefore, operability of this
weapon system. All this happening in a complex environment of
the evolution of the threat, like the one we are finding today. In
this way, any training activity to prepare HAWK crews, or the
sharing of experiences and knowledge, are considered to be key
elements in maintaining operational capabilities.

The evolution of technology and the progress of digital platforms
related to education favor a more economical and flexible training
in which the acquisition of knowledge can be developed online
without the student's training being diminished; besides, it is en-hanced
through an interactive methodology that increases their
performance, enabling Units to focus their efforts on other ins-truction
and training activities.
Exercise "DYNAMIC FRONT 21". TALOS-ASCA integration.
The Field Artillery "network fires" capability is provided by the
integration of fire-delivery means with those of target acquisition,
through the C2 system for fire support (TALOS). The ASCA initia-tive
allows the interoperability of TALOS with the C2 systems of
the fire support elements of other nations, expanding the afore-mentioned
capability. An American unit can attend a fire request
from a Spanish radar and vice versa. The exercise DF-21 has
enabled the certification of this interoperability. This exercise has
