Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Resilience
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is the onset of the charac-teristic
symptoms following exposure to a stressful and extremely
traumatic event, in which someone gets involved in situations that
pose a real danger to their life, or they witness an incident with
casualties, injured, or including a threat to other people´s life.
Not all personnel exposed to a traumatic situation develop the so-called
"soldier's disease". In this article, we will look into the en-vironmental
conditions and personality traits more likely to suffer
from this disorder. The concept of resilience will also be taken into
consideration as a differentiating key between the personnel who,
facing the same traumatic event, are capable of, not only avoiding
PTSD, but emerging psychologically stronger from the event.
Military personnel, due to their work conditions, are population
at risk to develop PTSD. In the article, different prevalence in
various Armed Forces will be considered.
Training and use
Coastal Artillery Electronic Warfare. Joint training
Accomplished by both 4th Coastal Artillery Regiment (RACTA 4)
units and Spanish Navy EW skill Warships, Joint Electronic War-fare
exercises give a basic scenario to guarantee the widest trai-ning
to every participating crew.
JTAC: current situation and future challenges
In 2015 and according to NATO doctrine, the former FAC were
turned into JTAC. The Army has managed to get a great number
of high qualified JTCA, after a demanding training programme.
However, geographical dispersion of personnel, materiel shortage,
and the fact that they are not included in the MPLTOs (Unit Staff
Planning), together with a limited training control, is significantly
hindering the development of this capability. The capability should
be reorganized or updated so that it can be provided with specific
positions, it can be compatible with the Personnel Training Plan
(PAP), and instruction and knowledge management can be eased.
TALOS against Coronavirus
C2 Talos system has been used during Operation “Balmis”, and
again it has proven both its possibilities and adaptive capability to
new enemies. It has been especially useful for the Ceuta General
Command (Comandancia General de Ceuta) as it was deployed to-gether
with the units in charge of guarding the Spanish-Moroccan
border. In this article, we will analyse the different structures and
transmission media used.
